JOIK holds a Valentine's Day sale (-15%) on February 14th

Joik is an Estonian natural cosmetics company, some of the products are 100% natural and some are made with synthetic perfumes and emulgators etc. Their English  e-store has also been finally released.

Joik's having a 15% sale on Monday and I think it's as good of a deal as you're going to get - I'd advise to take it :). Coupon code is SÕBRAPÄEV (just copy it from here and paste it, you may not have Õ or Ä on your keyboard).
They make soaps, cremes, bath truffles - go and see for yourself.

As for their candles - Strawberry-Rhubarb is one of my favorites, so is Cranberry but the latter is a bit out of season, it was a big hit during Christmas. Friend of mine loves Cinnamon Bun.

Rahvusvaheline promo tehtud, alustame eestimaist :)

Joik's deep cleansing facial oil - over and done with

Finally managed to finish the Joik face cleansing oil I bought in February 2009. I used it about twice a week while bathing and lately I had been using it with baking soda - to add abrasiveness and remove old skin more efficiently (smeared the oil on the skin, letting it work it's magic for a while, then took some baking soda, rubbed the skin over with it before taking the hot sponge and removing all of the goo).

It's a good product, removes all sorts of grease-based cosmetics and the skins own sebum like a charm. Main ingredients are sunflower oil, olive oil, ricinus oil, jojoba oil and some essential oils like lemongrass, lavender and tea tree oil. It's fairly cheap, 60 kroons per 100 ml bottle ($5, £3) that'll last you a year at least. They say on the homepage "use a teaspoon of oil" but that would be enough to cover your face, neck and decollete. 5 drops is enough for the face. I think I will not buy again, I'll just mix some myself.

IMPORTANT! Please note it also contains ricinus communis oil - a well known laxative if consumed orally, and also a pretty potent hair growth agent. Some people have been complaining that they have literally grown beards (hair growth on the cheeks accelerated) after using the cleansing oil. It's individual of course, I can't really complain about having a beard :D.

Here's a swatch of Joik's lipgloss:

Hilisem lisandus:

Fyrinnae'l on üle 20 USD tellimustele free shipping ja neil on oranž huuleläige Hair Dye täitsa olemas: osta või mitte osta? Review'd on kaunikesti seinast seina nende lippie'de osas... üks lippie oleks 4,5 USD.

Veel hilisem lisandus:

Tuleb leida kusagilt suvaline odav hügieeniline huulepulk/huuleläige, see korraks pigmendi sisse kasta ja huultele mätsida... nii raske see siis oligi.
Fyrinnae omad jäävad seekord ostmata.

Nn to buy lipsticks - just take the hygienic one you possibly already have, dip it into the appropriate pigment (you probably have some blushes) and voila! there's your lisptick. Same goes for lipgloss.

Glütseriin on vist süüdi. Tuleb uus niisutav kreem otsida. (too oily)

Järgmisena Weleda saialille-hoolduspiim. Andmebaasi järgi võivad need looduslikud koostisosad põhjustada allergilisi reaktsioone kuid midagi eriti jälki ei tundu sisaldavat.
Hilisem lisandus: ostsin, proovisin - ei imendu, jääb väga õline (öökremina peale kandes saab veel hommikul seda õli vatiga maha nühkida)... tuleb järgmisena testida geeljaid, mitte õli baasil tehtud niisutajaid. Lähen küsin loodustoodete poest kreemide testreid, enam põrsast kotis küll ei osta. (omg, oily)

(the best eye makeup remover)

(excellent, quickly absorbed by the skin but fiendishly expensive)

October 22, 2008
I now have a new friend, smells (strongly) like vanilla and feels great on the skin: Joik's goat milk based luxurious body lotion. So far so good. Unfortunately their homepage is in Estonian only... :S

I'd love to promote their stuff in other forums too, I am so pleased.

February 7th, 2009

Bought another Joik product - face cleansing oil. Perfect during the winter. Contains only natural oils and comes with 2 sponges.
It is applied all over the face on the makeup, massaged gently and then rinsed off using the sponges
soaked in hot water. There is a separate product for removing eye makeup, that's a little gentler and more moisturizing.
Sometimes I use it as the morning moisturizer too - as the weather outside is something between -3 and -12 degrees I cannot possibly use the water-based goat milk moisturizer.
