EOTD Pink (green) interference with Athena

click to biggify
Conservatorie's Pink (green) interference all over lid, TKB's Athena in the crease and outer corner. Champagne on the brow-bone as (almost) always. I love Conservatorie's Pink (green) interference pigment, it's a perfect almost nude and that green tint can only be guessed, an indescribable shade of beige, lovely shiny nude pigment.
I used Monistat's silicone-based primer all over face, including lids and Manhattan's eyeshadow primer all over lid. EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes and Intensive Fair concealer as foundi. Skin is still very dehydrated and flaky looking, red patches here and there. Here's a close-up of the skin.
Must get another test tube of Hauschka's Rose Day cream... (am to stingy to buy the big tube, I buy the small testers and use them as treatments from time to time.) Perhaps also a pineapple, that fruit is quite acidic and works like a (very mild) enzyme peel. Unfortunately I cannot get my hands on papayas here - those work wonders as well. Did you know that papaya and pineapple juice make meat tender when used in marinades? :D

Nahaga tuleb midagi ette võtta... mingi intensiivne niisutav ja samas kooriv protseduur. Peab poest vististi ananassi ostma minema ja puuviljahapetega peamist nahakihti maha sulatama. Kipitav ettevõtmine...
PS! Alumisel pildil on mineraalpuuder juba peale kantud, see siis 10 minutit hiljem - kreemi niiskus on kadunud, nahk on paberkuiv ja ketendav. Kaugelt on nahatoon ühtlane kuid lähedalt võtab kaamera puudrialuse punetuse kenasti üles.

EOTD Baby Pink Interference

I read some forum that pink is THE color for blue eyes. I remembered differently... and decided to try it out again. Result? Blah... combinations of brown and gold go definitely better with my skintone and give a much bigger boost to blue eyes. Pink makes me look red-eyed like a rabbit.

Conservatorie's Baby Pink Interference wet all over lid (has problems with adhering to skin otherwise, even with primer)
TKB's Satin Pearl in inner corners
Smoky XXX in the crease
Champagne on the brow-bone
EDM's Olive Fair semi matte as foundi
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes
Manhattan's eyeshadow primer and Lumene's mascara

Skin is still flaking, used my elf stippler to put some additional moisturizer on afterwards but flakiness is still there. Pics done in daylight, no direct sunlight. I'd still like to know, where's the interference? It's just a glittery light pink, which presses badly and bleeds in the process. Unless one's a die hard lover of glittery pinks, I'd leave this one at the store.

(Vähemalt see) roosa sinisilmade jaoks just parim toon pole, kuldsed-pruunid lähevad paremini. Nahatooniga ei sobinud kokku, teeb üldmulje punasemaks/oranžimaks samas kui kogu mu meigi peamine eesmärk on nägu kaelaga üht tooni näidata. Punanahksus ei ole just kuigi ilus :S

EOTD Pinky Blue

Skin has gone straight to hell since the last hormonal disbalance. My habit of scratching blemishes does not help at all either. So Archetype Cosmetics' foundation level 1 in Pink Beige had a minor miracle to preform this morning. I think it did well. Especially from afar one cannot really notice the unpleasant scarring on the cheek.

Colors used today are:

Foundi: Archetype Cosmetics' foundation level 1 in Pink Beige
Blush: TKB Trading's Gemma
Eyes: Echo all over lid, Foliage in the crease and Pink Crystal in inner corners.

Note to self: Echo has no coverage and only provides the blue sheen, does not suit Foliage at all. Pink Crystal hid Echo quite well, overall it looked good.

ELF's mineral eyeshadow primer, Lumene's mascara as always. Forgot to do the eyebrows, again. Actually, I like to have pale eyebrows... I've tried to paint the eyebrows and so far I've hated the look. I guess I might have used a color too dark. I do not fancy the shape either, have to change my brow sculptor - I looked a lot better with straight eyebrows, this person tries to make them arch all the time. Still, she only charges me 25 kr ($2;£1,5;1,5 EUR) for it, cant lament the cost.

EOTD neutral

I tried to make a blush for a friend. It turned out rather good but I'm not so sure it suites her... for me it's perfect. Too bad I failed to write down all I put into it, main ingredients are TKB eyeshadow base and Strawberry, some green, purple, black and golden pigments too.
On these pics I've tried contouring, putting the darker shade on the temples, just under the cheekbones and on the chin and jawline, using the E.L.F. foundation brush from the Studio kit.
Foundi is EDM's Olive Fair in semi-matte and for contouring I used Fairly Light Neutral. There's a bit of difference in the shades of my face and neck so I think I overdid it with the contouring. My DIY blush-mix is used both on lids and cheeks. The color looks very subtle on the eyes, for a change I did the lower lashline too - with E.L.F.'s eye pencil and covered it with the eyeshadow, using the E.L.F 's small precision brush. It's 33 degrees today so the pencil feels even too soft today, usually it's quite hard. Dont buy it, it's crap - impossible to make a thin line. Same pencil is used on the eyebrows. Pics are taken immediately after application and the makeup was gone in an hour: its unbearably hot outside and I sweat in enormous quantities. Terrible.

This is 7 hrs later after an entire day of sweating. My skin feels sticky, I need a bath...
Isesegatud põsepuna toon on väga kena mu nahal, sihuke tagasihoidlik roosakas. Kahtlustan, et K. tumedam nahk vajab midagi särtsakamat...

EOTD Pink

Colors used:

TKB Trading's Pink Crystal in inner corners, Angel Wings mid-lid and Apple Blossom outer corner.
Although the colors look very different in jar, Angel Wings and Apple Blossom are not much different, especially in their sheen, therefore this look is kinda blah. Would have been better with some Aster Hue in outer corners instead.

Used eyelash curler, pressed for 5 seconds, no difference. Walked through snowstorm, maybe that's why. Eye pigments applied dry, they look quite sheer.

Yesterday was worse - tried gray. Btw if you mix Chameleon Fine with Blueberry, you get an orangeish gray color. The mix is in the crease, lid is covered with Simply Naturals' Polished Silver. Anyway ppl kept telling me I look tired. No more gray looks.

EOTD Pink

For some weird reason I dabble a lot in pinks and purples lately... Most of the looks do not make it to the blog cause either I'm seriously displeased with the result or I just forget to take a pic. Daylight hours are still scarce in Estonia.

Here's TKB Trading's Smokey XXX in outer V, Apple Blossom in the inner corners and all over lid and Angel Wings on the brow bone.
I really really need a good blending brush - the Everyday Minerals dome blender sucks a** - works only to remove the pigment already on the lid. It's useless crap.
Forgot to use under eye concealer. Archetype's Yellow Beige lev 1 is the foundi used here. I must say I had forgotten what lovely glow that foundation has. Incomparable to Conservatorie's Caramel lev 1 yellow matteness. I must say I do not appreciate matte foundations all that much.
I have no eyeliner - and usually I'm in too much of a hurry to make my brush wet, dab it in pigment and  make one cause I know it will be smeared on my lid as soon as I forget that it's just applied and still wet. Pigments mixed with just water do not stay long on my lash line - maybe should get either a special mixer or a proper eyeliner pencil. I think they make mineral eyeliners too now.

EOTD Plummy Pink

This weekend was busy and fun – went to the country. Winter wonderland continues still… Tried to do some EOTD’s during last week too but I was so disappointed with the results that I did not want to post them. The problem is the lack of light in the morning – and what seems ok in the early morning is not so ok later on in  daylight.
During the weekend I decided to play some with my piggies: Smokey XXX has a lot of black iron oxide as base and when one smudges it (instead of patting it on) it becomes dark murky gray and looses it’s pink sheen.  So I mixed it with the TKB Trading eye shadow base (white), added some Raspberry, Paris Pink  and Travel to Mars. Result is matte dark plummy pink with the slightest red sheen.  Goes well with my dark pink office suite too.

On the pics: Conservatorie's Caramel light in Deluxe as foundi
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes
"Winter Sunset" as I call it all over lid and
Paris Pink diluted with TKB eyeshadow base as blush.

EOTD: Pink

Here's something pink, unfortunately looks quite bland on the photos.

Colors used are:

Simply Naturals' Primrose all over lid
Conservatorie's Gold Earth in inner corners
TKB's Winter Rose in outer V
EDM's Pearl Sunlight concealer under the eyes and on the browbone

Archetype's Pink Beige in lev 1 as foundi

EOTD Pink: neutral and unabtrusive

Something light for the summer.

Manhattan's eye shadow primer
The Conservatorie's Salmon Interference all over lid
TKB's Winter Rose in the crease
TKB's Ivory Lace on the browbone
Simply Naturals' Sandlewood wet as liner
TKB'S Winter Rose as blush
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes and
EDM's pressed powder Fairly Light Beige as foundi.

(at the southern window)

Used the foundation brush and the flat-top brush to apply the pressed foundi. Must say - it is quite shiny and not matte at all.

(at the northern window)

And this is the same makeup 7 hrs later - no creasing. Foundy has somewhat rubbed off from the nose as usual and one more pimple has appeared near the mouth.

EOTD Pink

Conservatorie's Shimmering Nude all over lid
TKB's Grape in outer corners as liner

The Conservatorie testrid saabusid (The Conservatorie mini-haul)

Tellitud 11. nov, kohal 20 nov. Shipping USD 6.20, iga tester USD 1.50. Testri suurus umbes 1/3 või 1/2 ühest 5 ml purgikesest. Pärlipulbrit sain ikka paraja supilusikatäie. Suured testrid neil.

I would have preferred to have my order shipped in an ordinary envelope - nn to go to the postoffice then. Then again - exercise is good for me anyway.

Võtame siis pakikesed ükshaaval läbi:

Pärlipulber (Superfine pearl powder) - huvi pärast tellisin, nüüd nuputan, mida sellega teha. V.o. annab primerina kasutada. Netis on artikleid, mis soovitavad seda mee või piimaga segatuna näomaskideks kasutada.

Riisipuuder (Rice powder) - meenutab konsistentsilt pigem mannat kuiet midagi, mida peaks nahale kandma. Kore ja vastik, kriibib isegi EDM LHK-ga peale kandes. Ma oletan, et see siin on lihtsalt liiga jämedalt jahvatatud. V.o. kasutada koorijana?
(Does not have powdery enough texture (too coarsely milled?) - I think you can make quite a passable porridge out of it though.)

Siidipulber (Superfine silk powder) - tundub kaunis mõnusa tekstuuriga, hakkan primerina kasutama.

Caramel Light is totally wearable for white skinned folks.
Just remember to add some of the white foundation base to your order for those winter months.

Siin ka pilt kodulehelt:
Ja siin Honey, millele olin pannud palju lootusi. Kodulehe pildi järgi pidi olema kaunikesti hallikas aga IRL põhitoon hoopis oranž. Honey Light on Deluxe retseptiga, mis carnaubavaha asemel sisaldab hoopis magnesium myristate'i nimelist ainet, millega serecite mica't töödeldud on.

(Honey does not resemble the picture on Conservatorie's homepage AT ALL - totally orange IRL . Disappointment.)

Põsepunad osutusid kaunis intensiivseteks: Twinkling Pink on tõenäoliselt kasutatav, Deep Plum'i, Adobe'i ning Sunset Rose'i ma arvatavasti põsepunana kasutada ei saa (last 3 are a tad too dark for me to use them as blushes). Deep Plum on kahetooniline - peale kandes (nühkides) kipub hoopis punaseks muutuma.
(Deep Plum becomes redish when rubbed.)

Põsepunade swatchid siin:

Swatch'id paberil ja nahal (primerina siidipulber):
Swatches made wet only, silk powder as primer, for comparison I have also made a swatch of the Archetype foundi I currently use.

Vasakult paremale: Archetype hele segu, Honey Medium, Honey Light Medium, Honey Light, Caramel Light Medium, Caramel Light, Foundation base mix, Pearl powder.

Samad toonid ka paberile tehtud swatchidena (same on paper, wet):

FOTD:
2 põsepuna on lausa imelised lauvärvid (kui sulle roosa istub, muidugi).

Caramel light foundi
Twinkling Pink blush üle lau (dry)
Välimine V Deep Plum blush (crease, dry)
SN Blue Steel lainerina (wet)

The darker blushes make wonderful eyeshadows.

Adobe all over lid, dry
SN Sandlewood as liner, wet

One of those rare days - it's actually sunny...

Saturday, September 13

Simply Naturals'i lillad swatch'id (purples )

Värvid on kantud MAD Minerals'i peitepulbrile.

Vasakult paremale: esimene on kuivalt, teine niiskelt (v.a. viimane toon).

  1. Amethyst - tumehallikas ploomililla, kuivalt suht mittemidagiütlev toon.
  2. Perfect Pout (Ocean Mist'i tester) - sinakam violetne toon
  3. Blossom - helesinakaslilla, sobib highlihteriks.

Nendel FOTD-del (face of the day) on näha Amethyst välisnurkades ning Jungle sisemistes.
Päevavalguses tehtud, IRL sädeleb rohkem ning on märkimisväärselt tumedam - ma ei saa aru, miks piltidele ei jää... :S

Lisandus: Primrose kui roosa toon peaks vist rohkem siia alla käima: seega selline on Primrose kuival pealekandmisel, lainerina Moca (primerina Archetype' foundi).

Proovisin lilladega uuesti seda rohelillat looki - no ei õnnestu.
(I think these colors - Amethyst and Jungle - are wearable only with some decent creamy eyeshadow primer. I used them dry here and the color just disappears in a blink...)
Also tried a look using just the purples I've got and this was a disaster as well:
Pearl powder as primer, Blossom all over lid, then Amethyst all over lid, Blue Steel in outer V and blended with Blossom again. I am truly fed up with Blossom - on it's own it's just white with purplish sheen and not wearable at all. Purple is not my color.
