EOTD Ladylike

Simply Naturals' Ladylike all over lid
TKB's Champagne on the browbone
TKB's Satin White as lower liner
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes
Porcelain form the e.l.f. personal blend mineral foundation kit (Light) as foundation - looks pinkish on the photos
Lumene's gray brown eyebrow pencil

Ladylike seems to be related to TKB's Smokey XXX - the same dark gray with pink sheen.
Blending was crappy again.
And why are my eyebrows red?

TKB's Athena etc and the difference a good camera makes

Do not be fooled - these pics  have been taken by a dude who knows his stuff and with a camera that probably cost half my year's wages. I do not look this good irl. This is all smoke and mirrors, just like the pics of celebrities on the magazine covers. Since it was overcast, the light was not warm enough to make my skin look reddish or yellow. Perfect pale, just as I like it :)
biggify to see the foundi in action
Stuff used:
e.l.f. mineral eyeshadow  primer
Monistat gel all over the face
Lumene's Arctic Definition Mineral Eyebrow Pencil with Protecting Arctic Amethyst (makes me chuckle every time I read this) No 2 Gray Brown. Lovely color btw - looks just like my eyebrows, just better.
Lumene's Natural Code Eye Dramatizer Volume-Defining Mascara (product names are getting ridiculous, don't you think?).
still unsymmetrical :S

On the eyes: TKB's Athena all over lid, Simply Naturals' Sandlewood in the crease and a generous helping of Smashbox's highlighter color from their Viewfinder trio on the browbone and used to blend out Sandlewood.

No cheek colors, no contouring - just EDM's Olive Fair in semi-matte, applied thicker on some spots. Lips are done with e.l.f.'s mineral lipstick in Cool Coral, I do not like that one much.
I LOVE the way my face is the same tone as my neck!
Bangs need cutting... and I think I should either grow my hair longer so I could put it up or cut it shorter - current length does not suit me as well as I thought. Accentuates the already rather impressive jawline. Hair is still moist on some of the pics, looks darker then really is.
Must tehti profikaameraga pilte - tulemus erineb tavapärasest ikka märkimisväärselt.

EOTD with Conservatorie's purples

Why does one of my eyes seem bigger then the other?

Primers used: Manhattan's eyeshadow base, TKB Trading's Champagne on the brow-bone and under the eyes, Manhattan's eye liner on upper lash line.
Decided to try purples: Conservatorie's Lavender in outer corners and Elegant Gold in inner corners - looked too garish. So covered the gold with a touch of Periwinkle (a mistake, definitely not my color - very shiny pale blue) and then covered the entire mess with Lavender, again. Used Sparkling Violet to create definition in the crease and then had the help of TKB's Fine White (in inner corners) and Hilite Orange (just above the crease, to blend darker purple). Result - not stunning, but definitely not as bad as the one I came up first with.
Typical winter light, pic made with the soapbox.

EOTD Cancerian Heat from Thursday

I'm too lazy recently to try and use multiple colors on eyes, skin is a bit weird too, it wants to be left alone, powder turns into a complete mess, especially around the nose. Sink is emitting lots of grease and flaking at the same time. Makeup looks good only until mid-day, then it becomes increasingly awful. The dark season is upon us so it does not show as much as it would during summer. Taking pics is hampered too, these are taken at 9 am and I barely had enough light to take them.

Stuff used:
TKB's Cancerian Heat all over lid, blended upwards with Ivory Lace
EDM's Fair Neutral in intensive as base (same color as neck)
TKB's Strawberry as blush
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes
silica microspheres on top of everything

EOTD Patagonian Purple from last Thursday

TKB's Patagonian Purple all over lid, Champagne on the browbone and used to blend in the crease. I'm very proud of the blending, turned out great. Patagonian Purple is a surprisingly wearable color, purples usually look like bruises on me.
Dermoshop's fairest foundie, which to my small disappointment, seems to have a sheen (magnifies pores). Also - it's getting a bit too orange for winter.
I'm hitting the bottom of my first pressed shadow (Champagne of course!).

Shopping!

I have very important guests coming over so I made a tiny splurge and invested in The Body Shop's Pomegranate and Raspberry home and linen spray. Might be slightly too sweet but I like it :). TBS has a 20% off at the moment. But even still - it's so much cheaper elsewhere, i.e. UK. Goes for £6 in UK but full price in Estonia is almost £10.

Also bought Dr.Hauschka's tester of their light version of the Rose Day Cream. My skin is acting up lately and probably needs little pampering. The small 5 gr tube will last me a month (55 kr) and is a good size for traveling.

The little jar on the left is a liquid foundation from Lumene's Natural Code series that was said to be very light: Vanilla. Since I cant really spot the place on my arm where I swatched it, I guess it's true :). The saleslady got really carried away and I think there's 4-7 uses in the little jar. I only asked for one... Thank you :)
I think I also saw some note there stating that this (seasonal product) is so cheap (109 kr if I remember correctly) only because it's being discontinued :S.

And here's an EOTD too, using TKB's Radiant Gold in inner corners, Grape Parfait in outer corners, Hilite Gold in the middle of the lid, also used for blending the purple outwards from the crease and to cover the eye liner pencil. Foundation was Archetype Cosmetics' Yellow Beige in level 1 (it worked miracles today, trust me on this...). EDM's Pearl Sunlight is under the eyes and on the browbones, very light mascara application because it's rainy today - trying to minimize potential pandaness :D.
Today I used Dr. Scheller's moisturizer instead of the usual jojoba oil and I did not let it set enough... foundation looks a bit heavy.

EOTD Black Amethyst

TKB Trading's Black Amethyst all over lid
TKB Trading's Echo just above the crease
EDM's Intensive Fair concealer as foundi
The Conservatorie's Adobe as blush.
E.L.F. mineral eyeshadow primer
E.L.F. eye pencil on the eyebrows
mascara from Estee Lauder (E.L.F's lash curler)

EOTD TKB's Virgo eyeswatch

Here's an eye swatch from yesterday featuring TKB's Virgo, cool beige metallic, destined to be very versatile and wearable. I used it dry without primer and it took 6 hours and a sauna(!) to crease. A pure mineral mixture, this one. Teaspoon sample.

Today it was the Cancerian Heat - a marvellous brownish purple color based on dark red. I cant really describe it, to me it seems it has tiny-tiny sparkles of every color and some golden sheen. I think that this color could be based on the Crucible Red pigment.  I applied the same color wet as liner. This is one of those colors that can be used mono but look as if someone's been very hard at picking colors and blending them away to get a flawless look. Please ignore the fallout under the right eye.
I was a bit wary when I put it in the shopping cart but I really like this one.  Cancerian Heat is not pure MMU pigment, it contains a lake dye called Black #2 and something called glycidoxphenol propane/ bisaminomethylnorbornane copolymer. This here is the only Zodiac color containing this ingredient that DOES stick to the lid surface. As one may recall Sagittaire, Taurus Orion and Capricorn Sea fail to do so.

I also used Gemini as blush but somehow it's invisible on both pics (slight golden pink irl). Gemini is an ordinary blush, not pure MMU at all - containing parabens, lake dyes and bismuth oxychloride - your basic everyday blush sold on in every shop. It's supposedly the dupe for the famous Nars Orgasm but I cannot confirm as never owned one. This product is ready mixed to be pressed.

EOTD's Breath of Spring After Twilight and Smokey XXX in Antique Silver

Yesterday's look in (TKB Trading's)  Smokey XXX (lid) and Antique Silver (crease, outer V) was a bit too dark for the office. Lately I tend to pick colors that are too similar and there's not enough contrast.
Smokey XXX is the perfect smokey eye color for pale skin. Picture taken 9 hrs after application and again, one eye is creasing. This time I used the Manhattan's primer so it has to be my eyes that behave weird and not the primers. Right eyelid sweats more???

Today's look (pic taken just after application) is about greens again. (TKB Trading's) Twilight, After Twilight and Aquarius are all part of the same color-type, watery grayish smoky greens. Aquarius is the greenest of them. Colors used here are After Twilight (outer V) and Breath of Spring (all over lid). Breath of Spring is actually rather sheer but this is not so noticeable irl. I always forget the liner... but this time I at least remembered to curl the eyelashes . :)

Note to self: eyebrows seem kinda bushy... I really would have needed those bloody ELF tweezers I reordered.

TKB Trading: purples and mauves

First in the row is Simply Naturals's Heliotrope - it's so bright that I think it contains some lake dyes.
Paris Pink Matte Tone - usable as blush
Bishop's Violet - quite a sheer one, bluish sheen
Aster Hue - pinkish sheen
Grape - genuine bright purple
Patagonia Purple - dark gray with purplish sheen
Smokey XXX  - lighter gray with pinkish sheen
Black Amethyst - darker gray base with purplish pinkish sheen
Sagittaire - blueish purple with pink sheen
Grape Parfait - almost blue
Pure Purple - from Edda's set - the most unbecoming color in the collection.
And a look from Sunday featuring Bishop's Violet all over lid and Black Amethyst in the outer V.
Took several pictures but none of them show colors true to life - could be that not enough light. Colors are more vibrant and have more depth IRL. Swatches done in daylight, wet over primer.

E.L.F.'s mineral eyeshadow Royal EOTD

Asphalt gray again - with purplish sheen.
EOTD with E.L.F.'s Royal (dry), same color used wet as liner. Oh gawd how I hate the Miss Piggy look - skin is soo pink! At least the blending seems to be ok this time. :)

I do not love it though... creased by 5 in the afternoon. Hmmmm. Weird, the primer did not let me down yesterday.

EOTD Lilac

Today I tried to do a look with lilac and gold, Aster Hue with Radiant Gold, the first all  over lid and second blended upwards from crease. As you can see on the hand swatch they compliment each other very well but on the eyes it looked as if a bright yellow ring is around my eye - purple with yellow - the perfect bruise. Had to remove it by blending it away and covering with foundation. Then took Satin Orange Gold and used it instead. Satin Orange Gold is also used wet as upper liner.

Rest of the stuff is the usual: Lumene Blueberry Curl mascara, Manhattan's eyeshadow primer, The Conservatorie's mineral foundation in Caramel Light, EDM's Pearl Sunlight under eyes. Used the E.L.F. eyelash curler and Rosy Raisin lipstick.

Pics taken in daylight - it's a bright sunny day today. :)

Next time I'm going to try the same look but place Radiant Gold in inner corners and Aster Hue in outer corners. Maybe it'll turn out better that way.

Lily Lolo's Golden Lilac remake

I've come across several wonderful reviews (Sirvinya's for instance) of Lily Lolo's Golden Lilac - a soft lilac with golden sheen and thought, why not make a copy using TKB's purples, hilites and sparkles. I cannot use TKB's purples on their own anyway.

Made 2 sets: one with Grape as base and the other with Pure Purple. Unfortunately it was not Pure Purple that gave the better result...

I used zip loc bags and did not measure the amounts. Small amounts of course :D.
Mix based on Grape is in inner corners, Pure Purple mix in outer corners and Hilite Gold as highlighter. No other makeup anywhere. No primer, all applied dry.

Since I do not have Lily Lolo's version of Golden Lilac, I cannot compare it in person but it looks very similar to the swatches posted on the net.

PS! One of the pale-skinned blue-eyes reviewers on Makeupalley complained, that the color was too gray for her eyes so I started to suspect my mix is still too pinkish. Solution - added a little orange to balance out the purple.
TKB mineraalpigmentidest saab ise endale segada just vajaliku tooni, samuti saab olemasolevaid ja mittesobivaid värve endale sobivamaks muuta. Vajab vaid veidi harjutamist ja värvisegamise kogemust. Puhtad raudoksiidid ei segune kuigi hästi, neid tuleb nt kohviveskis segada - TKB lauvärvipõhi enam kohviveskit ei vaja, seguneb suurepäraselt vilgupõhiste mineraalpigmentidega.Oksiide tuleb seevastu ALATI kohviveskis segada, sest muidu jätab valmissegu nahale triibud - kilekotis mudides/segades ei õnnestu oksiide kuidagi ideaalselt baasiga läbi kloppida.

EOTD Purple: bruises, bruises

See on nüüd suurepärane näide kehvast hajutamisest...

Seekord Simply Naturalsi Cafe Satin üle lau (hõbeläikega tuhmjaspruun), TKB Grape silmavaos ja Ivory Lace sisenurkades muljet pehmendamas. Oleks pidanud seda lillat veidi rohkem hajutama, sest hetkel on kinnisilmi-piltidel veidike ülespekstud mulje. Seekord jäi Pearl Sunlight panemata ja meigipõhjaks tavaline EDMi Intensive Fair concealer, viskasin veidi Sandy Beige' ka hulka - olen valgemaks muutunud. Põsepunana kasutasin seekord Simply Naturals'i Heliotrope'i.

The bruised look - not enough blending. TKB's Grape is dominating the entire look. Did not use any highlighters today and it shows (under the eyes). Heliotrope as blush.
