EOTD Oriental Beige with Deep Russet, beware of the Big Giant Head!

Using my newly pressed piggies. It's a bit weird for me to use pressed eyeshadows - the consistensy is different from powdered ones and skin swatches look really weakly pigmented in comparison, very sheer. On the other side - less fall out and it still looks the same on the lid. My synthetic eyeshadow brushes suck with the pressed ones. Here the slight scratchiness of the natural hair brush is actually rather welcome. ELF's Studio eyeshadow brushes have nothing to do here (exception is the small angled brush - that one works beautifully). With pressed eye shadows ELF's regular line works better - I just wish it would not shed as much...

 Colors used are: Champagne on the brow bone, Oriental Beige all over lid, Deep Russet in the crease, Hilite Copper in inner corners and on the lower waterline, Moonstone used as lower liner. 

Manhattans black eye pencil on upper lashline, Lumene Natural Code mascara in black. 

(My) left eye is done with ELF's eyeshadow primer stick and right eye is primed with ELF's mineral eyeshadow primer. I still haven't made a review of those, always forget.

Foundation is Gosh's fairest (a tester of which I bummed from a store last week) and I'm happy to say, it's really truly very light! Coverage is not the best, I applied 2-3 coats to get the coverage it has on the photos, it's very runny, much runnier then Lumene's liquid foundation I tried a week ago. I cant remember which Gosh foundation it was exactly, they carry 2-3 different formulas - I only remember it was a dark sort of tube. Blush and contour color is Peach, liquid foundation is set with EDM's Olive Fair in o-glo and as a highlighter I used silica microspheres (cheekbones, forehead, nose bridge)

Lash curler really does work :) but I forgot the eyebrows, again. I really hate my look when I have darker eyebrows - I think it makes me look mean. Unfortunately a light grayish brow color is something  I have yet to mix for myself. :)

Nüüd kinnitatud ka teise heleda jumestuskreemi olemasolu Eesti Vabariigis, aeg võtta välja šampanjapudel! Mineraalpuuder sobib suurepäraselt meiki kinnitama, Olive Fair jättis just selle vajaliku kerge kuma. Ja lisas katvust... Goshi ja Lumene jumestuskreemid ei saa katvusega eriti kiidelda.

Lumene Natural Code liquid foundation in Vanilla

Finally tried out my sample of Lumene Natural Code liquid foundation in Vanilla a genereous saleslady provided me with. Pale people, rejoice! Not too yellow, not too orange - perfect light neutral beige. It's on the sheer side and does not appear mask-like - it's totally opposite, very natural looking. Used E.L.F's foundation brush for application, worked like a charm. Here's a nice before-after picture of the foundation:

The foundation was applied with no primer, just some jojoba oil as moisturizer and it started to wear off by afternoon. 

On the eyes I used Champagne on the brow-bone, Peach on the lid and Moon Stone on the crease today. Subtle, again.

And here's a pic of all the stuff used. Mulberry was used on the cheeks.

Lõpuks ometi on müügile tulnud piisavalt hele jumestustoode! Lumene Natural Code Vanilla ei ole oranž ega kollane vaid mõnusalt neutraalne helebeež. Võimalik, et see sobib nii suurepäraselt vaid seetõttu, et see suhteliselt vähekattev on, sulandub hästi loomulikku nahatooni. Koostis on suhteliselt vedel ja ei püsi eriti palju kauem peal kui mu mineraalpuudrid. Nahatooni ühtlustajana hea asi aga kindlasti vajab peitekreemi ning meigialuskreemi alla.
Mis puutub selle stuffi looduslikkusesse siis Lumene kodulehel koostisosadest juttu pole. On vaid väike nupuke selle kohta, kuidas toode looduslikku teeleheekstrakti sisaldab ja seetõttu eriti kasulik on.
Järgmisena püüan kätte saada Goshi heledaima, mida on ka väidetud "tõesti väga heleda" olevat.

EOTD Pinky Blue

Skin has gone straight to hell since the last hormonal disbalance. My habit of scratching blemishes does not help at all either. So Archetype Cosmetics' foundation level 1 in Pink Beige had a minor miracle to preform this morning. I think it did well. Especially from afar one cannot really notice the unpleasant scarring on the cheek.

Colors used today are:

Foundi: Archetype Cosmetics' foundation level 1 in Pink Beige

Blush: TKB Trading's Gemma

Eyes: Echo all over lid, Foliage in the crease and Pink Crystal in inner corners.

Note to self: Echo has no coverage and only provides the blue sheen, does not suit Foliage at all. Pink Crystal hid Echo quite well, overall it looked good.

ELF's mineral eyeshadow primer, Lumene's mascara as always. Forgot to do the eyebrows, again. Actually, I like to have pale eyebrows... I've tried to paint the eyebrows and so far I've hated the look. I guess I might have used a color too dark. I do not fancy the shape either, have to change my brow sculptor - I looked a lot better with straight eyebrows, this person tries to make them arch all the time. Still, she only charges me 25 kr ($2;£1,5;1,5 EUR) for it, cant lament the cost.

EOTD Next to Nothing and a bath-story

I spent some time by myself this morning, had a tiny aromatherapy spa. Put castor oil on eye lashes and roots of my hair, grape seed oil on the face and hair ends, added some ordinary seasalt and a tiny touch of fresh coriander (I love this scent) to the bathwater and had a long relaxing bath. Later scrubbed the face with baking soda and warned the cellulite off my thighs with the help a big scratchy glove. Bliss! I love baths, so much more pleasureable then showers. It was so worth it although I had to shampoo twice to get all the oil out of my hair but it evens out since after oil treatments my hair has no need for a conditioner. Really, almost any oil will do for one's hair but I use the cheaper ones like grape seed or olive oil. It's so easy to have a spa in ones own home, most of the stuff is just sitting there in the fridge or kitchen cabinets. The only things missing are a manicurist and a foot massage. :D

Water one uses makes a huge difference. In the country my hair dos not get as greasy as fast as it does in the city. Tallinn is built on limestone and so is also our water reservoir, lake Ülemiste. This means very harsh water which is hard on hair (oilyness, dandruff), skin (dries it up, becomes flaky, especially in the winter) and household appliances. My hair feels so very different when I have bathed in a bog lake, silky smooth and shiny, makes me want to bring some of that soft water home in huge canisters. Rainwater is also splendid for ones hair. Sometimes it's recommended to put some vinegar in the rinsing water just to achieve the same soft result. I don't know about you but I think vinegar does not smell very nice.

After bath covered myself with jojoba oil from face to foot and pondered about todays look. Came up with this:

E.L.F.'s mineral eyeshadow primer (yeah, it's the stinky one)

EDM's Olive Fair in o-glo all over the eyelid and on the browbone as base, also used as foundation all over the face;

E.L.F.'s cream eyeliner in brown on upper lashline topped with The Conservatorie's Brown Cocoa;

MoonStone in the crease and lower lashline;

Satin White applied very lightly on the browbone and inner corners;

EDM's Fairly Light Neutral o-glo for contouring the cheekbones;

whatever was on the blush brush as blush (I suspect Scorpio the Eight mixed with a touch of Garnet);

E.L.F.'s eyelash curler (for one dollar - an amazing find);

Lumene Natural Code "eye dramatizer" mascara in black (a very good find, although not waterproof, will not budge from it's place during a day's wear; looks nice and sleek too);

Slight touch-up of the eyebrows with E.L.F.'s "feather proof" brown eyeliner pencil;

E.L.F.'s mineral lipstick in Rosy Raisin as the finishing touch (gone in an hour as usual, lipsticks do not stay on me :S).

FOTD: lets see if silica microspheres make a difference...

Still 30 outside, everyone sweats like a pig, no makeup holds - smart people wear their tinted moisturizers and sunscreens and I'm still trying to get the makeup to last at least until I get from home to work (15 minutes walking). I have to go read the Indonesian/Filipino girls blogs, I cant imagine how they do it... must be some very potent primer they use. I don't use any, just the jojoba-oil to moisturize after the morning shower - I guess the primer really makes a difference.

This time I applied EDM's semi-matte Olive Fair wet, by dabbing it over with a moist (E.L.F. Studio powder) brush - effect was instant, face became very shiny. Not the result I was looking for but nevertheless, worth a try. Then the contouring (EDM's Fairly Light Neutral o-glo), DIY blush (see last post) and on top the silica microspheres (TKB Trading sells it).
After arriving to work let me say - it looks no different from yesterday. Except that the face stings a little... Sweat conquers all.
On the eyes I used the E.L.F. eye primer & liner sealer, dabbing it over with some foundation. Colors used are: TKB Trading's Echo in inner corners, The Conservatorie's Gold Earth on the lid, TKB Trading's Foliage in the crease and outer corner. E.L.F.'s " featherproof" (actually says so on the pencil) eyepencil to fill out the eyebrows.

I'm doing lots of neutral eye-do's recently, must be the Make-up Store magazine... they had some very nice 50s looks in their last issue (see issue No. 13).
