Dermoshop's Aina cream

Dermoshop is a well known Finnish cosmetics brand - they specialize in stuff for sensitive skin and have also a range of health products like vitamins. Their products do not contain mineral oil and many are without fragrances whatsoever. I ordered a shipload of my favorite soap (they sell the cheapest available tar soap, 2,7 eur a bar). Since it's pretty potent stuff I only use the soap once or twice a week, definitely worth a review of it's own. Their shipping is for free if one orders over 50 eur worth of stuff but they had a nice free shipping offer at the time.

Dermoshop always adds free gifts (which one gets to pick oneself) and samplers - this was one of such. Aina cream is quite a recent addition to their line, it comes in one tone only. Texture is light, scent is nice - a typical bb-cream like product. Has a rather glowy finish like the rest I have tried and this sample is enough for at least 3-4 tries. This one has SPF 25 and the actual container has a pump - overall sounded really nice for I am hunting for something with good sun protection built in for the warmer months. Comes with a good price too - 9,90 eur.

Dermoshop is not a nature cosmetic shop so the ingredients (all listed on the homepage) may seem scary: just remember, getting any UV protection by means of nature only is a Herculean job in itself. If one wants sun protection, one pretty much has to agree to a much longer list of ingredients.

Well - a nice product but my skin really does not go along with the "one color fits all" policy low-end BB-cream producers tend to have, and I have to admit I did not succeed with blending the product properly (used e.l.f.'s small stipple brush). I did not use any moisturizers beforehand either.

WARNING! THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT NEUTRALIZE ANY REDNESS! That's why I end up looking like a total oompa-loompa. Cool toned persons should definitely avoid this particular product. It gets even worse when one happens to have blue eyes: orange skin with blue eyes screams disaster.

Veidi näiteid mineraalkosmeetika eksitava reklaami kohta

Tervitus.ee on saanud oma mineraalpuudreid tutvustava teksti BellaPierre maaletoojalt, hetkel selline (pehmelt öeldes, eksitav):
/.../ Kui meiki õhtuks mitte maha pesta, on tulemuseks liftingu effekt (seda protseduuri on mõistlik teha 2-3 korda kuus, kuna tavaliselt on õhtuti õigem surnud rakke eemaldada). Koostise poolest on mineraalne kosmeetika sarnane mesoteraapia preparaatidega.
BellaPierre kosmeetika eesmärgiks on anda nahale meik koos raviga.

Kuigi jah, ma tahaks teada, kuidas mineraalid naha niiskustasakaalu reguleerivad... minu kogemus ütleb: kuivatab, teinekord liigagi.

Kuidas?

Minerals.Planet on oma tekstiga väga palju vaeva näinud ja meeldib mulle vast veel kõige rohkemgi, tekst on tehtud inimese poolt, kelle emakeel pole eesti keel. Vaid need kaks lõiku on kahtlased:

Here I took some passages from local MMU e-shops' web pages to compare the info they present. Some stated "facts" are ludicrous but most are very pleasant read. Those who have been on the market for a longer time and KNOW their product, tend not to bullshit their potential clients.

Swatchid Katrinile

Siin on võrdluses Dermoshopi heledaim mineraalpuuder,  EDMi Olive Fair (o-glo), Fair Neutral (intensive), Ivory (intensive) ja Intensive Fair concealer. Peale kantud niiskelt.
Järgmisel pildil on swatche veidi hõõrutud, et alatoon paremini näha oleks:

EOTD believe it or not - green

For some weird reason in this setting sun's light it looks more blue then green... It's actually green. Skin looks porky pink as well.
I removed the foundation I applied this morning and tried out the new Dermoshop's fairest. I really love the creamy texture, nice and silky. When applied in layers it's pretty covering too. I used the trusty E.L.F. flat-top.
Eye makeup has held pretty for 7 hours now, recently aquired new Manhattan's eye makeup base (got it on sale for 61 kr) is performing really well.  Colors used: Champagne on the browbone, Dublin in the crease, Lucky Green in inner corners, blended slightly over Aquarius which is placed all over the moving lid. Manhattan's black eye liner is covered with Grape Parfait, dry. EDM's Pearl Sunlight is under the eyes. No blush.
Dermoshop's foundi seems to be a little orange, though :S, not fair enough...

Ilumessi muljed

This post is about the beauty fair this weekend and stuff I got. I only got the Dermoshop mineral powder and some free magazines and leaflets. Dermoshop was with a good price and since it's a catalog seller, I saved some on the shipping too.

Coulour Caramel'i stend
Plussiks on võimalus täita palett (saadaval vist 3 eri suurust?) enda valitud toodetega. Aastase kasutamise jätel näevad pakendid kindlasti kaunis koledad välja... aga seevastu on loodussõbralikud.

Pakendil on kaunis, lihtne disain.

PS! Kui keegi soovib näha, milline ta näeks välja pikkade juustega, siis seadke sammud A-angaari, sisse minnes vasakut kätt lõpus on Hollywood-midagi clip-in'e promov box, kus  neid saab lasta endale prooviks pähe panna (originaalsed Indiaani juuksed, muide :P).

S. continues to review her collection: EDM, Dermoshop, Philosophy

This is me using other ppl's personal experiences in my blog, again.
S. continues her series by commenting on the rest of the products she has tried.

Philosophy puuder on saadud paar aastat tagasi ja pole tegelikult Eestis müügil.

I got Philosphy's powder a couple of years ago. I don't like Philosophy's Supernatural 4-in-1 mineral makeup at all. It's too yellowish and too heavy for my skin and it caused me some skin problems (itchiness and break outs). It contains bismuth and parabens. Maybe they've changed their consistence for now, but this one that I got, has scary so-called other ingredients' list.

Information from package:
Active ingredients: zinc oxide(5,196%) Other ingredients: bismuth oxychloride, mica, titanium diocide, iron oxides, silica, triethoxycaprylylsilane, phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben. And last but not least - this product is too expensive as well.

Dermoshop/Dermosil is a North-European cosmetic brand from Finland and it is one of my favourite skincare brands. I like their mineral make up products as well. Negative side is really narrow or even non-existent selection of colors - they have only two foundation shades. Dermoshop mineral powder in darker shade is quite nice, especially in summer, when I've tanned. But again- it's a little bit yellow or too dark for me at the moment. I haven't tried their new lighter powder yet but I definitely will. I suppose that mix of these two Dermosil powders could be a good match for my skintone in wintertime and in early springtime. Dermosil powder is in my opinion really lightweight and haven't caused me any skin problems.
Active ingredients:
Kaolin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bisabolol +/-(might contain? other ingredients): MICA, CI 77891, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 7749 Kaolin content products are really good for my skin.

I must say, that Dermosil mineral blusher and eyeshadows are discontinued for nowadays, but I'll say some words about these products anyway. Dermosil blusher is really beautiful shimmering rosy color in the jar, but on my face it transforms into peachy. It's actually my overall problem with mineral blushes - I want pink cheeks, but what I get is peachy or even worse - orange cheeks. Eyeshadows are nice colors for everyday use, but in my opinion - not so good quality as for example EDM or PureLuxe.

I also have Dermoshop's kabuki brush- I was quite pleased with it until I got EDM brushes. Compaired with EDM brushes - DS's one is scratchy and rough, but definitely better than some so-called mineral make up brushes sold in stores.

EDM eyeshadows: My favourites are Cypress and Dandelions. Cypress is awsome silver-greenish color for everyday eye make-up. Dandelions are bright shimmering white and it's great for highlighting (for example inner corner of the eye or under the brow). Mystic Night is really mysterious deep dark lilac shade and as the name says- it's more suitable to make evening/night make-up for special occasions or clubbing tour. In my opinion.
I really like EDM eyeshadows- they are long lasting and quite easy to work with (easier than PureLuxe pigments or Dermosil powdershadows). I already added some other EDM eyeshadows to my wishlist (In The Garden for example).
About Snuggle blush. Product information on the website says: it's a radiant pink with flattering peachy undertones and it should be suitable for any skin tone. But... It is not right for me- it's not pink at all on my cheeks, it's more peachy or rather orange on my skin tone. Disappointing. :(

(Liis: I have the same problem - ppl sell stuff that's not pink at all, i.e. MAD Minerals Just Pink - actually totally beige on me)
