Color Study: Coastal Scents' Blue-Red Chrome

CS Blue-Red Chrome all over lid, TKB's Apricot used to blend the crease, EDM's Sunkissed Fair on the brow-bone. Very good pics if one wishes to spot the duo-chrome effect. I layered the piggie thinly over the primer - one can notice that the color looks redder in inner corners and bluer in outer corners. Not my color though.
Skin is flaking, nothing helps. Exfoliating seems to be creating even more flaking. I'll give it a rest.

CS Sage Blue with Grape Parfait / Lumene's Volume Defining Mascara

These are both colors that need a colored/opaque primer underneath - a sheer one will not do. Both of them have more of a sheen-effect and low coverage when applied dry. CS Sage Blue is all over lid and inner corners, TKB Grape Parfait in outer corners and crease, TKB's Champagne on the brow-bone. Did not bother to curl lashes. Manhattan's eyeshadow primer. Skin is flaking, exfoliating does not help.
This color-duo needs a third color, badly. It looks so undefined and bland - am thinking either cool brown or dark gray in the crease. And definitely some base, either skin-coloured or dark.
Mascara used is Lumene's Volume Defining Mascara, the green one, it was a gift-with-purchase.
Consistency is very liquid and the wand looks like Blueberry Curls'.

After swimming (I never stick head under water while swimming) and couple of sauna trips this is what remained:
(sry about the bad lighting conditions): I'd say a mighty good mascara.
Air humidity in the spa was close to 70%. Eyeshadow has creased.

EOTD Blue: CS Duochrome BG826C with TKB's Antique Silver

Coastal Scents' Duochrome BG826C thickly on the upper lid (1/3), blended upwards with TKB's Antique Silver (Duochrome BG826C has spread itself all over lid, making it look badly blended - should be only on the lower 1/3 of the upper lid)

Archetype's Yellow Beige level 1 as foundi (1 layer over Monistat's anti-chafing gel), Coastal Scents' Duochrome Red-Orange as blush.

The entire thing looks sloppy on the pics.

Duochrome BG826C is a lovely intensive color (a wearable turquoise blue), looks more blue in artificial light and more greenish in daylight. Reminds me slightly of TKB's Ocean Green and Indian Blue all at the same time, I'll compare them during the weekend.
Lips done with Lumene Natural Code Smile Booster lipstick in Mauve Rose.

EOTD blue-green: Coastal Scents' Sage Blue

CS Sage Blue all over lid, TKB's Breath of Spring in the crease and Champagne on the brow-bone. Simply Naturals' Twilight dry on upper lash line. Used Monistat anti-chafing gel as primer for second day in a row, this time with Archetype's foundation and could see no improvement. Foundi is still melting off the T-zone (look at the forehead just above the nose).
Sage Blue is a cousin of Breath of Spring, somewhat more opaque but still with weak coverage, where Sage blue has blue sheen Breath of Spring has it green. Nice wearable color, goes well with pale skin tone but probably would go better with eyes that are not blue.
pic taken in daylight 5 hours after application

The versatile Antique Silver

Next to Moonstone, Athena and Ivory Lace I think there's one more TKB color that suits everyone - Antique Silver. It goes well with most other colors, blends quite well and does not look pretentious. Does not look like much when you first see it (color of wet asphalt).

Look is done with Ocean Green (damn, the blue is not my color! no matter what I do with it) and Antique Silver, a tad of Travel to Neptune in inner corners. Travel to Neptune reminds me of Hilite Blue, I'm yet to see the color shift in daylight. Maybe it'll be more noticeable in artificial light. Most pigments become very sparkly then.

I blended too much... it would look better if I had left more darkness in the upper part of outer V. Now I just made myself downwards slanting "sad eyes" :S It only shows when the eyes are closed.

EOTD blue? Experimenting with Edda's set

What colors go well with blue eyes? Definitely not blue and never anything that even remotely reminds turquoise, at least in my case it's definitely THE rule. It automatically adds 20 years and makes me look like an old tired prostitute.

This EOTD is all about experimenting - the first time I ever used a white color in my eye makeup: TKB Trading's Satin White as highlighter. The latter has strong sheen and not much coverage so it makes a superb highlighter.

TKB Trading's Edda Got Attitude Set was at first quite disappointing - the other day I used Lotsa Lime dry without primer and it was far too sheer - it got better though, using wet application and primer. And OMG do I look bad with Pure Purple! It's exactly the color of a bruise... I've tried to make something with it for at least 3 times but always ended up removing everything from my face. Totally Teal though is something that needs some consideration... as a solo color it's definitely a no go but it can be used in combination with others.

Stuff used:
Satin White under the brows and inner corners
Totally Teal in outer corners
Lotsa Lime in inner corners
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes
The Conservatorie's Caramel Light foundi tweaked with Archetype's Pink Beige level 1. My own mix of Paris Pink and eye shadow base (50:50) as blush.

Elegant Minerals FOTD

Eyes: Elegant Minerals Seafoam, Silver Bullet, TKB's Breath of Spring and Pisces Blue
Foundation: Elegant Minerals Natural Wheat (No 127)
Elegant Minerals Sheer Neutral setting powder and Terra Cotta blush

Got a packet of samples Monday evening, still no time to swatch them. At least had enough time for a EOTD.

Saabus Elegant Minerals'i pakk kuid siiani pole jõudnud swatche teha - loodetavasti järgmine nädalavahetus... tellisin päris palju meigipõhja-näidiseid, neid oleks päris huvitav võrrelda. Natural Wheat on liiga oranž.

EOTD Blue: Pisces Blue

TKB's Pisces Blue all over lid
TKB Breath of Spring used for blending upwards
MAD Minerals Baby Bronze as upper liner
TKB Sparkle as lower liner
Blue is not my color, does not make the eyes pop.
Looks a lot better on the pictures then IRL.

These are actually last Saturday's - my poor victim.
TKB's Apple all over lid, smoothed down in the middle with Conservatorie's Xian Vistas and followed upwards with Conservatorie's 18K Gold up to the brow. Simply Naturals' Sandlewood is used as lower liner

Archetype testritega tehtud FOTD'd (Archetype FOTD)

Archetype Cosmetics Cicatrix dry, same color wet as eyeliner (dark grey with golden green shine)

Epiphany applied dry with EDM's Eye Kabuki, photo in natural light: soft shiny gray, great everyday neutral. Liner (very thin, next to the lashline) is Simply Naturals' Blue Steel applied wet.

Erotic Underground dry all over lid, Blue Steel as liner

Erotic Underground wet all over lid, Burlesque Revival as highlighter. I must say these colors are impossible to photograph with my camera: EU looks dull gray and BR even lighter dull grey while IRL the first is purplish silver in daylight (greenish silver in artificial) and the second has distinctive pink sheen.

Now a little something with Midnight Aeval and Daybreak Aeval that are to go together.
Unfortunately the camera distorts the colors - Daybreak Aeval is actually greener then the light blue on the pictures.
I used Signature Minerals Porcelain as primer - the eyeshadow creased in 5 hours :S.

This next set of photos is made in daylight (overcast, no flash) with Empty Heart, brownish grey with blue glitter.
The glitter is totally invisible on the photos.
First two dry:
Second ones: wet, one of them taken with flash:

These swatches are made 6 hrs after putting on the makeup so the look is not very fresh. Silk powder is used as primer, Signature Mineral's Porcelain as foundi on eyes, rest of the face is Conservatorie Caramel light. Colors used are Corpse Candle dry all over lid (liner too, applied wet) and Glass Coffin to blend in the harsh line under the browbone.

Corpse Candle is a verry pretty tourquoise-like tone, Glass Coffin is very sheer, also blue-based sparkling tone. The photos are made during a winter afternoon so the light is very blue and dim.

Now again some light greens: Back to the Sea all over lid, dry, Weeping Willow is used dry to blend the colors under the brow bone. Liner is Simply Natural's Twilight.

These two are taken in daylight:

The same in artificial light:

Twilight and Back to the Sea resemble each other but the first one has golden sparks where Twilight has silvery sheen.

Now to browns and golds. This look is done with 4 colors. Highlighter is Dirty Blonde, all over color is Child of Hounds, outer V is Xibalba (reminds me of Simply Naturals' Cafe Satin) and the only color used wet is Yowie the Night Beast as liner.

First 2 photos are made in daylight.
And 2 in artificial light:

More browns: Simply Naturals' Sandlewood is used as eyeshadow base (strongly pigmented dark brown). Queen of the Nile all over lid, inner corners Valley of the Kings (strong bright coppery metallic), same color is used just under the browbone. Dirty Blonde as highlighter and Ornaments of Gold wet as liner.

Photos are taken in daylight, some 5 hours after application - the colors are a little faded, especially on the right lid.

Some other green colors that do not impress me much - tried to make something out of them:

Caramel Light as primer again, Venus Fly Trap all over lid, Transylvanian Concubine in outer V ans wet as liner, then tried to blend Transylvanian Concubine with Bela's Grave but chose wrong - the result was bad. So grabbed Child of Hounds instead.
This here is an attempt to show Burlesque Revival in all its glory but the attempt failed miserably - the pink glow just isn't visible on the photo. Picture light grey with pink sheen.

I chose very few blues and purples from Archetype, so here's one of the purples: the Witching Hour (dry). A lot of fallout and does not stick to the eyelids at all - tends to leave the lids unevenly covered in only 30 minutes. Primer was EDM's intensive fair concealer.
