 Not happy with the result
Aquarius all over lid, Jade in the crease, Grape Parfait in outer corners and Champagne on the browbone. Dermoshop's foundi. Should stick to browns and purples...

EOTD believe it or not - green

For some weird reason in this setting sun's light it looks more blue then green... It's actually green. Skin looks porky pink as well.
I removed the foundation I applied this morning and tried out the new Dermoshop's fairest. I really love the creamy texture, nice and silky. When applied in layers it's pretty covering too. I used the trusty E.L.F. flat-top.
Eye makeup has held pretty for 7 hours now, recently aquired new Manhattan's eye makeup base (got it on sale for 61 kr) is performing really well.  Colors used: Champagne on the browbone, Dublin in the crease, Lucky Green in inner corners, blended slightly over Aquarius which is placed all over the moving lid. Manhattan's black eye liner is covered with Grape Parfait, dry. EDM's Pearl Sunlight is under the eyes. No blush.
Dermoshop's foundi seems to be a little orange, though :S, not fair enough...

Manhattan's eyeliner pencil

Can a true cosmetics freak even imagine that I have not had an eyeliner pencil for a couple of years and I have not even missed it that much? The brown "feather proof"  one (chinese manufacturers are so funny! I suspect they did it on purpose :D) that came to me in an E.L.F. kit does not count since it's far too harsh to be used anywhere near the lids.

Well now I've got one, a fancy Manhattan Cosmetics X-treme last twist-up eyeliner (45 kr, 3 EUR). And now I also know why I have not missed it that much - the upper inner lid line transfers under my eyes. Am now in-between: should I use the pencil to optically increase the thickness of my lash-line and look like a panda or keep the lower lids clean and lashes more thin-looking?

At the moment the liner has a pretty sharp tip but I suspect it'll be dull soon and making a thin line will be an impossibility. It's very soft and smears well, a good thing to have if one wishes to achieve the smoky eye - blends well too. I guess for a thin line I'll have to apply it with the E.L.F. Studio slanted eyeliner brush.

Colors used are: China Jade all over lid, pencil line on the upper lid is covered with Travel to Jupiter (color shift from turquoise to cold green), Garnet as blush, EDM's Olive Fair o-glo as foundie.

EOTD Old Bruise

I spent some hours this week looking at blending and makeup videos on youtube. I really really can't blend worth a squat so am trying very hard to learn. Still the look turned out with a sharpish crease-line :S. And of course, one eye is greener then the other :S.

(these pics are taken closer to the window)
Colors used are:

TKB Tradings Pennsylvania Green on outer half of the lid
TKB Tradings Scorpio the Eigth on the inner side of the lid and also as blush
TKB Tradings Mermaid's Gold just above the iris
Just a tap of TKB Tradings Echo in inner corners and a bit on the lower lashline
TKB Tradings Cyprus Green in the outer crease and lower lashline.

E.L.F.'s dual ended eye shadow primer
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes and as highlighter
EDM's pressed powder in Fairly Light as concealer on spots (this was a mistake, looks very disgustingly caked, franky I dont't like the product at all, it is unusable on my skin. I try to use it but I always fail. Any tips? Personally I think their new formulation in pressed powders absolutely sucks - too much oil.)
EDM's  Sandy Fair as foundation
TKB Trading's silica microspheres as setting powder
Lumene Natural Code mascara in black

EOTD's Breath of Spring After Twilight and Smokey XXX in Antique Silver

Yesterday's look in (TKB Trading's)  Smokey XXX (lid) and Antique Silver (crease, outer V) was a bit too dark for the office. Lately I tend to pick colors that are too similar and there's not enough contrast.
Smokey XXX is the perfect smokey eye color for pale skin. Picture taken 9 hrs after application and again, one eye is creasing. This time I used the Manhattan's primer so it has to be my eyes that behave weird and not the primers. Right eyelid sweats more???

Today's look (pic taken just after application) is about greens again. (TKB Trading's) Twilight, After Twilight and Aquarius are all part of the same color-type, watery grayish smoky greens. Aquarius is the greenest of them. Colors used here are After Twilight (outer V) and Breath of Spring (all over lid). Breath of Spring is actually rather sheer but this is not so noticeable irl. I always forget the liner... but this time I at least remembered to curl the eyelashes . :)

Note to self: eyebrows seem kinda bushy... I really would have needed those bloody ELF tweezers I reordered.

EOTD Lucky Aquarius

These are TKB's colors again: Aquarius with Lucky Green. Aquarius is based on chromium oxide green and ferric ferrocyanide - this means that when one rubs it, the black oxides won't be there to show through - it just becomes more blue-green instead of murky gray. The black fallout on my face is street dust - it's windy today and I just came from walking the dog.
Lucky Green is part of the Irish Eye set and is a cheerful turquoise greenish marvel with some golden sparkle. It's ingredients are not pure MMU, also contains some lake dyes (so does the dark green Dublin), Limerick is the only pure MMU eye pigment in that set.
These photos are taken in the evening, 10 hrs after application. I used the E.L.F. mineral eye shadow primer, the very runny one - for some reason one of my eyes creased like mad but the other one looks presentable still. I do not have much faith in that primer, deservedly so I'd like to think.

Here's a color experiment from last weekend. This is what one gets by mixing Green Apple with Raspberry (The Pop! sampler) adding a touch of Travel to Pluto. Not my color, I looked as if I spent half the night crying. It really looks more reddish irl. The sheen was marvelous though! I think it was Travel to Pluto that accomplished this.

And as last: something scary from yesterday. Copper Penny as mono color. I had the same color shirt too that day... still too scary though.

Green Apples in Antique Silver

TKB's Green Apple in inner corner
Antique Silver in outer V
no primer, colors look a bit faded, everything applied dry as usual
lasted about 3 hrs, then started to crease

EDM's Fair and Conservatorie's Caramel Light mixed as foundi
Used the eyelash curlers today, eyes look enormous.
Pictures taken in daylight.

My skin has turned really bad, must be something I ate.

Nahk seevastu on täitsa hull - igapäevane veinijoomine ma ütlen, tuleb maha jätta.

EOTD Black Amethyst in Twilight

Colors used are: TKB Trading's Twilight dry all over lid and Black Amethyst wet as liner. Foundi is the Minerals.Planet (Estonian webstore) foundation in Fair (we suspect she sells Coastal Scents foundi) which is also used on the brow bone. Garnet mixed with The Conservatorie's foundi in Caramel Light (50:50 mix) as blush. Forgot the eyeshadow primer, the pigment sticks quite well on it's own too.
Mineral makeup is not very covering. At least this particular blend is not - needs the concealer underneath. Here's a before and after for you to decide yourself. I think the result is better then the bare skin. This MMU has trouble covering big blemishes but (like all MMU) works wonders evening out the skin-tone.
Minerals.Planet'i poolt müüdav foundi (JJ-lt laenatud) pole kõige katvam kuid tal on mõnus siidine struktuur. Kehvema nahaga rahvas peaks ostma ka peitepuudri, mida probleemkohtadele paksemalt peale kanda enne meigipõhja tegemist. Ma kasutasin pärastpoole ka mingit veil'i, pilti ei teinud. Unustan alati viimistluspuudreid kasutada sest ei saa hästi aru nende otstarbest.

TKB Trading Irish Eye collection

So far I have seen no one swatching TKB Trading's Irish Eye collection: Limerick (taupeish golden sparkle), Lucky Green (bright tealish green) and Dublin Green (a bit grayish dark green with red! sparkle). It looks totally different when swatched wet. The last two of this set contain lake dyes and parabens - not real MMU I'm afraid :S. But they're still pretty.
They are very sparkly in artificial light. Limerick is great but tends to scatter all over the place.
Limerick in inner corners, Lucky Green all over lid and Dublin Green in the crease. All applied dry. Sry 'bout the crappy fuzzy pic.

Taurus Orion - no love

TKB's Taurus Orion is a piggie which's main component is chromium oxide green. Consistency of the product is (to put it mildly) not very easy to work with - if it's not patted on but sweeped, the golden holographic effect disappears and you're left with dark matte green as seen in the middle of my lids. Blended upwards with Hilite Gold. Taurus Orion will have to find a new home.
It also sucks bad as nail polish, to my utter amazement. Color-wise it's fine but the finish - OMG, matte green. Took me many coats to get the glossy look. Let the pic speak for itself. It's as if the pigment sucked up the top coat again and again and  again.

I love mixing colors: EOTD green

Here's a new greenish golden eyeshadow, lovechild of Indian Blue (2/3) and Oriental Beige (1/3). Good to know I can use Indian Blue at least this way - it's much too blue for me to be used straight. Also mixed 2/3 of TKB Trading's eyeshadow base with 1/3 Artisan Coral to get a nice natural looking blush - very, very nice sheen. I should add some Artisan Coral to my foundie, I liked it that much. Pic taken in daylight, all dry.

The eye makeup: Indian Blue/Oriental Beige mix all over lid, Simply Naturals' Twilight in the crease, Conservatorie foundi (my lighter mix containing lots od TiO2) on the browbone, under the eyes and as foundi.
Curled the lashes too but I cant see much difference. Mascara wand can do the same fob with less fuss.
I tried the wet application of foundi today and I did not like the effect. Apparently one needs to do some serious moisturizing beforehand cause now my skin is a bit too wrinkly on the cheeks - this has never happened to me before.

Weekend EOTD's: Green and black

Dabbled in green on Friday but the color did not exactly meet my expectations... all the hilites and sparkles somehow managed not to show in the end result.
Mixed Green Apple with TKB's eyeshadow base, Radiant Gold and Hilite Blue - almost looks the same as Green Apple itself does, only somewhat cooler (as in "less warm").
Used it all over lid and then decided to try the trick I've seen done many times - applied black pigment in the crease to make the color there a bit more saturated - a mistake. I should have applied the black there first and then apply the green all over lid color. I mended it with some more Green Apple in the crease. Satin Orange Gold in inner corners and on the browbone, some Breath of Spring used to blend up from the crease. I am really, really disappointed in the EDM dome blending brush...

Now the dark one: colors used are Blackest Black in the crease, Blackstar Red all over lid, Hilite Red in inner corners and blended upwards from crease, EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes and Fair Neutral as foundi and as highlighter on the browbone. All dry application, picture taken in daylight. Pardon the lack of symmetry, still learning how to blend. HOW  DO  THEY  DO  IT?!?!
Skin feels terribly dry and flaky, MMU makes me look a bit wrinkly now.

EOTD Green: Lotsa Lime

Edda Got Attitude Lotsa Lime is the main player here. Lotsa Lime all over lid, Lemon Drop in the crease, Satin White on the browbone, Hilite Orange and Hilite Gold are used for blending. Hilite Orange is also used under the eyes. EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes as concealer, Conservatorie's Caramel Light mixed with Archetype's Yellow Beige lev 1 as foundie.

EOTD Green: mostly Cyprus Green

It' so nice to have ones own photographer at hand... today pics with and without flash. Pics taken in daylight at 14.00 pm - those who live in northern countries understand the importance of (and appreciate) this little piece of info. :P Some are done using flash. The eyes are unevenly done, discovered it only after the pics were taken.

Colors used:
Cyprus  Green all over lid and wet as liner
Shamrock in the crease and above
Glimmer Green in inner corners
Hilite Green used for blending upwards.
Swatches done dry, with flash.
The browbone is later blended using the EDM's Intensive Fair concealer which is also the foundi.
EDM's Pearl Sunlight under the eyes as usual.

EOTD Green: Apple mixed with Tangerine

TKB Trading's Pop! Collection is very bright - yes, but has no good coverage on it's own. I think these micas lack adhesion and coverage. They are high in sheen but when looked at from another angle - the skin shines through. Good if used on top of MAC paint pots etc but not on their own.

Another lesson learned today - blending is a tricky job. Especially when trying to blend the Pop! micas - they disappear...

Colors used: Tangerine+Green Apple mix (50-50) all over lid, Blueberry in the crease, Lemon Drop above the crease and all blended down. Picture taken in artificial light, much brighter irl.

And the same mix (50%Green Apple-50% Tangerine) in daylight, next day. Same color used wet as liner too. Minimum blending - used Conservatorie's 18K Gold to blend upwards from the crease.
